Getting Started

Step 1: Prepare the Glass Container

  • Take the contents out of the glass container and set it aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Plants

  • Using the small bowl, carefully remove the plant(s) from their plastic pot(s).

  • Gently pull off the plastic pot and recycle or keep it for another project.

  • Gently shake off the soil from the roots, leaving mostly the rootball exposed.

  • Set the plant(s) next to your glass container.

Step 3: Add Colored Sand

  • Take the colored sand and your spoon.

  • Spoon the colored sand into the bottom of the glass container.

  • Have fun with the design! You can create layers, patterns, or simply fill the bottom with sand. Get creative with any other tools you might have (e.g., paintbrushes, bigger spoons, etc.).

Step 4: Add Soil

  • Open the soil bag and carefully spoon soil into the terrarium on top of the sand.

  • Continue until all the soil has been used, filling up the container.

Step 5: Plant Your Plant

  • Make a small hole in the center of the soil with your finger or spoon.

  • Place the plant’s roots into the hole and gently press the soil around the roots to ensure they’re fully covered.

  • Make sure no roots are exposed once you’re finished planting.

Step 6: Decorate Your Terrarium

  • Use the wood, stones, and moss provided to decorate your terrarium.

  • You can use all, some, or none of the decorative items depending on your style. Feel free to add any other fun décor pieces you might have!

Step 7: Water the Plant

  • Once you're done decorating, it’s time to water your plant.

  • Carefully pour 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water into the terrarium, ensuring that the plant receives enough moisture.

  • Be careful not to overwater!
